Effective Date: October 22, 2026
These Terms of Service set out the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between CodeSand Co., Ltd. (the "Company") and users in connection with the use of the mobile application "DangoLoop" (the "Service") provided by the Company.
These Terms take effect upon being posted on the Service website, and users can view them at any time from the settings menu in the app.
The Company may amend these Terms to the extent that the amendment does not violate applicable laws.
Changes that are not unfavorable to users are posted on the Service website with the details of the amendment and the effective date, and take effect upon posting. Feature additions, wording improvements, clarification of collected or used items, and correction of clerical errors fall into this category.
Changes that are unfavorable to users are posted on the Service website with the details of the amendment and the effective date at least 30 days before the effective date. Changes that reduce users' rights or impose new obligations, discontinuation of features previously provided, and reduction of refund conditions fall into this category.
If a user continues to use the Service after the effective date of an amended version, the user is deemed to have agreed to it. A user who does not agree may stop using the Service at any time, and termination of the use agreement is governed by Section 11.
In addition to posting on the Service website, the Company notifies users of unfavorable changes by reasonable additional means such as an in-app notice, and obtains separate consent where applicable laws require it. If a user stops using the Service because they do not agree to an amendment, refunds for the remaining period of Paid Products are governed by Section 9.C.
The Company provides the features needed to achieve the purpose of the Service. The specific composition of each feature and how to use it are explained in the app, and the list below is an illustrative description of the nature of the Service and does not limit the features the Company provides.
The Company may change, add, or discontinue individual features to improve the quality and ensure the stable operation of the Service. However, changes that materially affect users, such as discontinuing the entire Service, are posted in advance by the method in Section 2.
The Service is in principle provided year-round, but it may be temporarily suspended for substantial reasons such as system maintenance, equipment replacement, or failures of external services. In such cases the Company gives notice in advance where possible and resumes the Service without delay once the cause is resolved. Because the Service does not keep user data on servers, such suspensions in principle do not affect the use of data stored on the device.
If the Company discontinues the Service in its entirety, it will give notice on the Service website at least 30 days in advance. Users can preserve app data before then using the device backup feature of their operating system. Refund and compensation criteria for Paid Products valid at the time of discontinuation are governed by Section 9.C and are posted together with the discontinuation notice.
This section contains matters you must confirm before using the Service. The Service has the following limitations, and users use the Service with an understanding of them. Section 13 (Disclaimer) is premised on this section.
The Service is used without an account. There is no sign-up or login, and the Company does not create or keep any account that identifies users. Consequently, issues such as responsibility for managing an ID and password or account theft do not arise.
All User Content is stored only on your device. The Company does not operate servers that receive User Content. Certain information does leave the device for usage statistics, advertising, error diagnostics, downloading paid-portion audio, verifying Paid Product purchases, and checking for in-app notices; its scope is set out in the Privacy Policy.
If the Company introduces account-based features (backup, sync, etc.) in the future, it will announce the amendments to these Terms and the Privacy Policy in advance by the procedure in Section 2. Existing device data will not be transferred to the Company's servers without your consent.
Users must comply with applicable laws and these Terms and must not do any of the following.
This section does not restrict uses of third-party works that are permitted by the open licenses in Section 7 (copying, distribution, and adaptation under the terms of those licenses).
User Content belongs to the user. The Company claims no rights to it and neither stores it on its servers nor views it.
Intellectual property rights in the Service and its components (software, design, icons, text, etc.) and in the Learning Content created by the Company (meanings, example sentences, translations, pronunciation audio, etc.) belong to the Company. Users are granted a non-exclusive right to use the Service for personal, non-commercial study, and any copying, distribution, or modification beyond that is not permitted without the Company's prior written consent.
Among the Learning Content, dictionary data such as headwords, readings, parts of speech, and furigana derives from third-party works used under open licenses.
The Company modifies this dictionary data for the Service — it selects entries by frequency tag, extracts headwords, readings, and parts of speech, merges furigana alignment, and assigns levels and ordering within each level. The dictionary data derived from the works above, including the Company's modifications, may be used by anyone on the same terms under CC BY-SA 4.0, and the use restrictions in these Terms and the Company's rights do not extend to it. The meanings, example sentences, translations, and pronunciation audio created by the Company were written independently, without translating or adapting the works above, and belong to the Company.
The Service does not provide features for users to post content within the Service or exchange it with other users. Accordingly, there are no report, block, or hide procedures for content between users. If the Company introduces such features in the future, it will establish reporting and handling procedures at the same time and give advance notice by the procedure in Section 2.
The Company offers Paid Products within the Service. The products currently offered are as follows. The price, term, whether it renews automatically, and the details of the benefits are shown on the purchase screen before you buy, and you can view these Terms and the Privacy Policy from the purchase screen.
The benefits of Paid Products include access to the Learning Content of all levels and removal of ads; any other benefits are limited to those actually provided and shown on the purchase screen. Features in preparation are not part of the purchase benefits, and the Company does not present features in preparation as if they were available. The Company may change the types, prices, or composition of Paid Products or discontinue their sale. However, rights already acquired by users who have completed payment are not retroactively reduced or affected by such changes.
Paid Products are paid for through the payment methods provided by the App Store. Registration of payment methods, payment approval, billing, and cancellation procedures are subject to the policies of the App Store you use, and the Company does not collect or store your payment information such as card numbers.
If you change devices or reinstall the app, you can reapply the lifetime license and any subscription that is active on the App Store by running Settings → Premium → Restore purchases with the same App Store account used for the purchase. Paid Products belong to the App Store where they were purchased and are not transferable between the Apple App Store and Google Play.
To determine whether a Paid Product applies and remains valid, the Company looks up the purchase proof issued by the App Store with that App Store through a verification server the Company operates through a processor, and issues the verified device an entitlement token that unlocks paid-portion audio. The information transmitted in this process and its retention are governed by the Privacy Policy. If the check cannot be completed for the moment (offline, server failure, etc.), the app keeps your existing paid status and only playback of paid-portion audio may be restricted.
The roles and responsibilities of the Company and each App Store operator are determined by applicable laws and each App Store's policies. This section does not exclude any liability the Company bears under applicable laws as the provider of Paid Products.
Purchases by minors. If a minor purchases a Paid Product without the consent of their legal guardian, the minor or the legal guardian may cancel the contract, except where the Civil Act of Korea restricts cancellation, such as when the minor misrepresented that guardian consent had been given.
You can cancel the monthly subscription at any time in the App Store's subscription management (Apple: Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions / Google: Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions). After cancellation, the benefits remain until the end of the current period you have already paid for and the subscription does not renew thereafter. Deleting the app alone does not cancel the subscription. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, the fee for the next period will be charged. Whether a subscription is active is determined by the App Store’s subscription management screen. After you purchase or restore a Paid Product, the app periodically checks the current purchase status with the App Store as described in A, and when expiry, refund, or cancellation is confirmed it removes the paid status and tells you so in the app. If a check fails temporarily, the app keeps the previous status and tries again, so the app’s paid indicator may briefly differ from the actual status on the App Store; check your subscription status and billing in the App Store’s subscription management screen. No further fee is charged for a subscription you have cancelled in the App Store, regardless of what the app shows.
Users may request withdrawal of offer or a refund within the periods and by the procedures set out in the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc. of Korea and other applicable laws. The channels are as follows.
Under Article 17 of the same Act, users may withdraw their offer within 7 days from the date they receive the written contract terms (including electronic documents). If supply of the product began later than receipt of that document, the period is 7 days from the date supply began. Payment receipts for Paid Products are issued by the App Store immediately upon payment.
Withdrawal of offer may be restricted under the same Article in the following cases.
Because the paid Learning Content is unlocked and provision begins immediately once payment for the lifetime license or monthly subscription is completed, the first case above may apply. The Company states this on the purchase screen in advance, and you can explore the Service through the free portion before purchasing.
If a product is provided differently from how it was displayed or advertised, users may withdraw their offer within 3 months from the date of supply or within 30 days from the date they knew or could have known of the fact.
Where a lawful withdrawal of offer is recognized, the Company refunds the amount already paid within 3 business days from the date it receives the withdrawal notice under Article 18 of the same Act, and pays the statutory late-payment interest for any delay. Amounts paid through the App Store's payment method are refunded through that payment method, and using the App Store's refund procedure does not by itself restrict users' rights under applicable laws.
Refunds on discontinuation of the Service or rejection of amended Terms. If the Company discontinues the Service in its entirety (Section 3), or a user stops using the Service because they do not agree to an unfavorable amendment (Section 2), the monthly subscription is refunded for the remaining period after the discontinuation or cessation date. The lifetime license is refunded under the criteria set by applicable laws, taking into account the period of use since purchase and the amount paid; the specific criteria are posted together with the discontinuation notice.
When the license for a Paid Product ends through expiry, cancellation, refund, or revocation, the right to use the paid-portion Learning Content and pronunciation audio ends with it. From that point the app no longer downloads paid-portion audio and restricts playback, and audio files temporarily stored on the device are removed when the app is deleted or by the operating system's storage cleanup. Users may not keep, copy, or use downloaded audio beyond what Section 7 permits.
If a user violates these Terms or applicable laws, the Company may restrict use of the Service to the extent permitted by applicable laws. However, because the Service has no accounts, there is no means to suspend a specific individual user; restrictions are implemented by discontinuing the relevant feature, taking measures through app updates, complying with App Store distribution policies, and the like. Legal liability arising from unlawful use is borne by the user.
Users may object to a measure through the contact point in Section 15, and if the objection is justified the Company will lift the measure without delay.
Users may end their use of the Service at any time by deleting the app. Because the Service has no accounts, there is no separate withdrawal request or notice to the Company. Requests to delete usage statistics or error diagnostic information that the Company processes through external services are governed by the Privacy Policy.
The Company protects users' personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea and other applicable laws. Matters concerning the collection, use, provision, outsourcing, cross-border transfer, retention period, and destruction of personal information are set out in a separate Privacy Policy.
The Service operates no accounts and does not send the original study records to servers. The only information that leaves the device is usage statistics (which you can turn off in Settings), information needed to serve ads, diagnostic information when an error occurs, request information for downloading paid-portion audio, the purchase proof needed to verify Paid Product purchases, and request information sent to the Company website to check for in-app notices. See the Privacy Policy for details.
The laws of the Republic of Korea apply to the interpretation of these Terms and to disputes between the Company and users.
If a dispute arises in connection with the use of the Service, the Company and the user shall resolve it through consultation in good faith; lawsuits over disputes not resolved by consultation shall be filed with the court having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act of Korea.
Before filing a lawsuit, users may apply for mediation to relevant bodies such as the Korea Consumer Agency's consumer counseling center or the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee.
However, if the user is a consumer residing outside the Republic of Korea, the rights guaranteed by the mandatory provisions of that country's law are not restricted.
